Weddings
St
Mary’s Church is both a beautiful and a convenient location for a wedding. The church itself seats about 100 people
comfortably and more at a squeeze.
If
you are considering a marriage, please contact the Rector who can give some initial advice and arrange for you to view the
church.
The
Doctrine of the Scottish Episcopal Church is that marriage is a physical, spiritual and mystical union of one man and one
woman created by the mutual consent of heart, mind and will, and is a holy and lifetime estate instituted by God
In
most circumstances the Rector can, with the guidance of the Bishop of the Diocese, marry those who have previously been divorced.
Anything divulged to the Rector in this regard is treated in strictest confidence.
Once
a date for the ceremony is booked, the Rector can give advice about practical arrangements for the service.
The
General Registry Office for Scotland has information on the legal issues involved in getting married in Scotland.
