St.Mary’s, Aberfoyle raises all its own
income to meet clergy overheads, the running costs of our fine Church building, and the annual diocesan quota to the Scottish
Episcopal Church. As part of our commitment to Christian stewardship, we actively
promote regular giving to our Church through Gift Aid from our congregation and visitors and we hold periodic fundraising
event each year, open to all members and friends. As part of its outreach work, St.Mary’s publishes a regular Linkage
newsletter and makes donations to UK registered charities from a separate Fund, using income from the annual Harvest Thanksgiving
and Christmas Carol service collections.
We are
currently undertaking a major overhaul of the Church building fabric for the first time since St Mary’s was built 115
years ago. You can donate NOW to our Church Renovation Appeal by just clicking on the link above.
In
2007-08 St Mary’s budgeted revenue will be £39,000 and, after deducting the contribution made by our sister church at
St.Andrew’s, Callander towards shared clergy costs, we anticipate applying the operating surplus to upgrading the Rectory
and installing a renewable energy supply to the Church building. We are also actively considering ways in which we as a living
Church can play a more active role in tackling social issues within the wider community in the surrounding communities of
Strathendrick and the Trossachs which St Mary’s serves.
