Praying with the Society of the Child Jesus
The Society of the Child
Jesus is interdenominational with over 200 members. Members of the Society pray for children and seek to learn from them;
their simplicity, trust and directness of vision. Aware that the future of the world is in the hands of children, members
of the society pray that, through them, by the working of the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of God may increase and the world may
become a place fit for children.
St Mary’s supports
the Society of the Child Jesus by prayer, in intercessions every week for particular children. Children are prayed for up
to their 17th birthday. Intercessions are for the welfare of children, specific needs and celebrations. It’s
not just prayer for ‘wants’ but also to say ‘thank you’. The Society also encourages children to pray,
for each other and for those responsible for them.
Patrick Mileham and Mary Murton compile and distribute the
prayer lists. They are always looking for new members and names of children in need of prayer. If you would like to find out
more, contact Patrick Mileham on 01877 382650.
